I like the “cockroach pass.” Right before you do the pass (classic or hermann), point to the ground behind the spectator and say, “OH MY GOD, a cockroach!!”, when they turn to look, you can do the pass. It works well.

Hrm, maybe this goes with visual noise but I’ve been seeing it more and more. When you learn a move like the Classic Pass and it’s variants, and you’re totally new to it, you’re probably more than a little paranoid that you’re flashing like a mother. So even though they have the mechanics down, they start using every bit of cover they read about, and really damn sloppy as well.

So note to future shifters: At the very beginning, lay off the jiggle pass. The paranoia makes beginners have seizures instead of a controlled, focused, and for the love of god subtle, jiggle. Hell, you may realize at some point you don’t even need it if you give your technique more time.
